Enabled by Design is running a focus group in London at the end of September. We are looking for people who use assistive equipment to make their everyday tasks easier and would be happy to come and have a chat with us about their experiences – both the good, the bad and the ugly!
The workshop will be held in London on Monday 22nd September 2008 between 10am and 4pm.

Enabled by Design Workshop
Enabled by Design is developing an online community to support those looking to make adjustments to their lives, be it as a result of disability, injury or personal identified need. The ultimate aim is to make independent living more accessible through the use of clever modern design. The website will bridge the communication gap between users and designers, to encourage discussion and collaboration to produce practical yet stylish gadgets. It will also provide an opportunity for people to air their views, talk through ideas and hopefully find some answers! A prototype was developed at the recent Social Innovation Camp and the project is securing early stage funding.
Enabled by Design is running a focus group in conjunction with:
Thinkpublic (public service and communication design):
http://thinkpublic.com
and Headshift (enterprise social computing consultancy):
http://www.headshift.com
on 22nd September 2008 at NESTA’s offices in London. We are looking to bring together users and designers, as well as additional participants (hopefully including healthcare professionals such as occupational therapists) to help explore and map the future functionality of the website.
