Hi,

I’m currently in my final year studying Industrial Design within the Engineering and Design school of Brunel University. I am aiming to design an inclusive winter/general glove to provide better experience, especially involving those that have decreasing dexterity and strength in their hands and fingers.

The glove needs to alleviate stigma and promote dignity by moving away from the medical and extreme sporty style and be more subtle, but fashionable. The glove needs to provide grip and better movements to make performing tasks easier. Current gloves fail in providing this. This would mean applying less force to grip hold of objects. I’m hoping to achieve this by using appropriate materials and designs. It should also provide good warmth for the cold weather conditions to reduce the loss of sensitivity in the hands.

Have you ever experienced problems whilst wearing gloves, anything at all? it will be very useful to hear from you.

Would anyone be able to help in suggesting any warm, smooth and breathable materials? thinner the material the better as the aim is also to reduce the padding of the glove to provide better dexterity.
Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Nejal
