Following last month’s blog post on Seminar in your Slippers, we thought you might be interested in hearing how the sessions went, as well as about those all important next steps!

Seminar in your Slippers is a series of online sessions providing information to people living with long term health conditions and disabilities, covering topics such as personalisation.

First up, here’s a short video giving a taster of one of the sessions, just to get you started…

And so without further ado, Martyn take it away..

The first two ‘Seminar in your Slippers’ have been held successfully! On February 23rd and March 2nd Personalisation: Part 1 and 2 were run live via the web. Take up was lower than we had hoped. More of this to follow. However the software ran like a dream (see below), the attendees feedback was very positive (“thoroughly useful, especially Martyn’s personal insights”) and the presentation collated was received warmly : )

In terms of the lower take up. General feedback has been that the idea, concept and delivery channel is fantastic. Due to the fact this is a very new model of information service delivery, please can you, the people we hope to support, email martynsibley@hotmail.com and let us know how the idea can be improved.

Here are some thoughts to consider:

  • Did you hear about the seminar early enough?
  • Did you understand how the seminar would work technologically?
  • Did you understand how the seminar would work content wise?
  • Was the price an issue?
  • Did the topic have relevance to you? If not, what topics would…
  • What else would make you more likely to sign up?

Many thanks and we hope to see you at the next seminars. Dates to be confirmed and a travel seminar will be in the offing too!

Kindly written by Martyn Sibley (AKA @MartynSibley)

Martyn is extremely keen to get feedback from both the people who took part in the sessions, as well as from those who didn’t, so that he can grow and develop this project to meet both people’s interests and needs. So please do drop him a line or two, either by emailon twitter or in the comments box below, thank you! : )
