By 2010 we thought we’d be living in the future with hoverboards – well it seems now we really are but with this new kind of keyboard! Not had a play with one yet, but a big step towards a different kind of user experience that might suit some more than others (I’m prone to a […]

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, Wellies 8 years, 3 months ago
With all this snow, I’ve been noticing an upsurge in the use of wellies in London. OK so they may not be assistive equipment – more adaptive equipment – but I am really not a fan. They’re cold, uncomfortable and they fall into the croc/ugg fashion crime camp in my mind. Granted they keep your feet […]

Spotted these popping up around the shops (this one in John Lewis on Oxford Street). About time someone came up with a way of making baskets work. A little tricky to get through some of the tighter spots in the shop, but a big improvement on carrying it.

Not got hold of one yet, but this looks bloomin cool – http://www.trabasack.co.uk. I’d probably use the bag to put the laptop on and protect my, um, legs from frying. But I can imagine all sorts of uses. And anything described as a ‘lap tray travel bag’ has to be a bit unique and innovative […]

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, The Pop-up Book of Phobias 8 years, 4 months ago
Not sure whether this is intended as a kill or cure, but it is a beautifully designed little pop up book looking at all your ‘favourite’ phobias.
Found over on Fubiz’s site (the video is well worth a watch) http://www.fubiz.net/2009/11/26/the-pop-up-book-of-phobias -

I do a lot of swimming so I get to see these quite a lot. And they are awful. I’m sure they do the job but really do they have to look so terrible? Is there not a more subtle way to protect other people from verrucas? Not a fan at all.

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, Foldable plug 8 years, 5 months ago
I carry around my laptop wherever I go. The laptop is heavy enough as it is, but I have to bring the bulky and relatively big plug to go with it which takes up space in my bag and weighs a fair bit as well. Min-Kyu Choi’s plug (http://www.iconeye.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3864:rca-student-radically-improves-the-uk-plug)…[Read more]

Designed to help you regulate your stress levels, it’s also looks so smart you would buy it to wear whether you need it or not!
I found it over on the fantastic Fubiz blog:http://www.fubiz.net/2009/09/28/stress-watch

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, OXO Good Grips bottle opener 8 years, 7 months ago
Just perfect for my hands. I tend to find other bottle openers awkward as you have to put a lot of the effort in and the part that you hold is often a little small and fiddly, often meaning I spill some of the beer or fizz it up. But on the weekend I was at […]

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, Explanatory slings 8 years, 11 months ago
How could you not love them? Not great to break things, but if you do these save the hassle of having to explain what happened over and over – plus they’re great fun! (came across them through my friend Ivo and found over on this website http://heutedenkenmorgenfertig.com/2009/05/10/explanatory-slings)

I spotted this on a friend when I was recently in America and thought it was great. As good as a cast but able to take it off and not have to struggle with keeping it dry etc. Would be good if they were more common in the UK.

Not only are they not generally the most attractive (unlike the style changes that have been made to the two wheelers in recent years) but they can be dangerous and not very stable when on uneven ground.

Availabot is only in prototype at the moment but looks great. It tells you when your mate is on Instant Messenger. It plugs into your computer by USB, standing straight when your friend comes online, and falls over when they go offline. Great fun!

Would love this to be made for real. Would be an easy target to hit to turn the alarm off in the morning!

I am not much cop with anything fiddly as my fingers aren’t that dexterous. Although you would think this would make the touch pad on the iPhone a dream for me, for some reason its just too fiddly and my fat fingers regularly hit the wrong keys. Very frustrating!

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, Perpetually disrupt, creatively destruct: how to be a Social Entrepreneur in one easy lesson 9 years, 2 months ago
What is a social entrepreneur? That really is the million dollar question and this lovely poster by Tom and Cathleen at For Impact does a grand job of explaining in simple yet heart felt terms. Being a social entrepreneur is most definitely a labour of love! As I say on Tessy’s Thriving Too blog (the blog that makes me […]

Dominic Campbell wrote a new post, Enabled by Design keeps its fingers crossed for the Social Innovation Camp 9 years, 10 months ago
Enabled by Design has got a lot to thank everyone at the Social Innovation Camp for. Not only did it give us a great chance of becoming a successful social start up, but it sure was one fun weekend too! For that reason, we at EbD wanted to show our appreciation by supporting the recent nominations of […]
