Microwave lidded saucepan

It’s often the simplest of ideas that can make a big difference!

I recently decided to invest in a microwave, to ensure that even when I’m too tired to prepare food I can at least heat up some soup. Microwave, check, now all I needed to do was find a way of heating soup, beans etc without the rather messy splatter effect caused by heating up the food. I’d tried using microwaveable cling film but found this difficult to remove when virtually vacuum sealed over a volcanic bowl of soup. Also the risk of burning myself with the steam trapped inside was a definite no no. Finally, resigned to the fact that my microwave would need to be cleaned out after each use (putting me off of using it quite so much especially when tired), I spotted this microwave lidded saucepan and I can’t sing its praises enough!
The saucepan’s handle doesn’t get hot when heated and there are two spouts where steam can escape, making it much safer to use. Although I would say that you still need to be careful when removing the pan from the microwave and removing the lid, as the contents will be hot and there will be some steam. The spouts also allow you to pour out the contents easily and the lid prevents the contents from escaping and making a mess, yippee! The saucepan holds a pint in total, is microwave and dishwasher safe, doesn’t stain and comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee. Not bad for £3.99 from Argos, I’m most definitely a fan! : )
