THE ARRIVAL OF COUNT ROLLO
Yesterday morning the new Count Rollo rolled gently out of his transit box. When I had adjusted the height of his handles and dumped my walking stick and purse into his capacious net basket, I took him straight out for a walk. Folded, Count Rollo is light enough to carry down and up the steps at the front of my Victorian house; his large wheels ensure that travelling over badly maintained pavements, a rough shingle drive and the end of season bumpy grass in the Promenade Gardens is very smooth and comfortable. The excellent space within his wheels and frame makes for exceedingly comfortable walking - steady on the feet and very straight of back. I pushed him down a long slope to the Beach Promenade, battled a bit with the morning's strong winds, and went back up the hill again with no problems at all. His brakes are even and positive and the pavement lifter works very well. His design is clean and elegant, and the grey and black is extremely chic. He seems to be an altogether excellent machine and I look forward to a long and happy relationship with him.
