Crutches

by HipWomanToo, May 31, 2009 8:40 PM

Make: Cooper
Model: Elbow Crutches

Blowing my own trumpet here, but I am so chuffed with these! Bored of NHS grey, I've gone for couture crutches, pimping up standard NHS elbow crutches. The pic shows my two sets and the first set I've done for a customer.

Hi

Thanks for all the comments here about crutches. After 10 years of using boring grey hospital issue ones, I finally saw the light having read these set of reviews and ordered 2 pairs of the Vilgo crutches from ChicAid. I got a standard pair with full cuf in pastel blue (lovely colour and great with denim) and a pair of the folding ones. I'm not so keen on their design as they have a half cuff only (why?) and the hand rest and ferrules etc only come in black (bit male for me...).

But, they will be a really big help for travelling and the half cuff (once I get used to it) will give me more fashion options too. I've also ordered a pair of Snap On Magnets that are yet to arrive but I'll let you know how useful they are. They are to enable balance one crutch against the other, without risk of it falling,

If anyone else is wondering whether or not to enter the world of nicer crutches.. go for it! I thought I looked great today with jeans, blue crutches and a bright yellow bag!

http://www.chicaidcrutches.co.uk/ - looks like a fabulous site.  Good for Kate for bringing these to the UK marketplace.    I will wait and see how you get along with the magnets  - not quite convinced.  I'm loving the coloured shower seat too.  I wonder if she can source raised toilet seats and toilet frames in anything other than white?  Anything to make them less ghastly!

 Hi Hip Woman,

I'm Kate from Chic Aid crutches and I have been looking into ways of introducing an increased range of 'designer crutches'
