How about a pair of good quality lightweight walking boots that don't have laces, so that they can be secured with use of only one hand?

If you have a pair of lightweight walking boots that you like already. Perhaps you could try Lock Laces: http://www.locklaces.com/ These are an elastic lacing system with a spring activated locking device and according to their website "you can simply slip your shoes on and off, no more tying and untying laces or double knots!". Hope this helps : )

Via @hadleybeeman I've never worn them, but I hear Merrells are incredibly comfortable. And they have a big range of elastic laces or no laces.

The Lock Laces I ordered arrived this morning, and are excellent! I'm going to have to post them as a 'Love'!
