Doors in offices that don't pull your arm off trying to open them

For Architects, British Standards and Fire Regulations to come up with much more manageable doors in office buildings. Difficult to open when you are either in a wheelchair or crutches. I understand the need for fire proof doors in but the majority of door closers are set too strong - they nearly pull your arm off. I think the regulations need a more universal approach. Not many buildings have the push button door openers throughout.

Good question, need to find out first why they are designed as they are and then assess how it can be challenged and come up with something much more user friendly.

I work for Fireco Ltd. We have developed a range of products some of which benefit those who are less able bodied. We have recently developed a door closer called Freedor. Freedor allows an internal fire door - whether it be in an office or in a care home etc - to be held open at 90 degrees AND to swing freely without pulling your arm off! also when the fire alarm sounds the door closer releases closing the fire door.
