What is sugru?
sugru is a soft-touch silicone rubber that moulds and sets permanently, which can be used to modify and improve products so that they work better. It sticks to aluminium, steel, ceramics, glass, wood and some fabrics and plastics.

This is Jane (the inventor of sugru). She’s from Ireland and she’s lovely. Jane was studying product design at RCA London when she had an idea:
“I don’t want to buy new stuff all the time. I want to hack the stuff I already have so it works better for me.”
So she phoned some clever materials scientists called Ian and Steve and together they invented an interesting new material for hacking things better. It’s called sugru and is a little bit brilliant.

Want to share your own hack?
Just email a picture of your sugru hack with a description of what you did and why you did it to firstname.lastname@example.org and don’t forget to type Enabled by Design in the subject bar.
Once your hack has been added to the sugru gallery, it will magically appear in the hacks section of the Enabled by Design website. Just like that! : )
