This is a new automatic handwash dispenser which provides soap when you place your hand under the nozzle.
Although this is being marketed as part of the obsessive “germ free” culture, and is expensive at about £8, it could be very useful for people who don’t have good dexterity or who don’t have full use of both hands. If it catches on perhaps more companies will follow and bring the price down.

I was reading this and, although I think it’s a clever system, I am wondering if it is that much better than having some old fashioned soap, somehow fixed to the sink, so that one can just roll hands over it.
I am fortunate enough to have full use of my two hands but I am frequently having to deal with holding my son whilst having to reach the soap with just one hand. Because the soap melts and gets stuck to the soap dish, it’s as if it’s fixed: and that means I can roll my wet hand on top of it in order to get all the soap I need.
