Or between you and me a common or garden fan! Having said this, it isn’t just any old fan. This has been an absolute lifesaver in the recent hot and humid weather. I have MS and the heat really does flare up my symptoms including my fatigue levels.
I have the smaller 8″ diameter model, but I’m sure the quality and performance is similar if not the same as the one shown here:

This fan looks good, is well made, powerful and most importantly is relatively quiet, so it doesn’t keep me awake during those humid nights. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Be interested know what people make of the new Dyson Air Multiplier…..
Haven’t got a Dyson Air Multiplier myself, but had a play with one in the Design Museum shop. It looks ace, is quiet and "generates smooth, uninterrupted airflow with no unpleasant buffeting". It currently costs £199.99, so is a bit out of my price range, but perhaps one day! : )
Why did we get it? for the remote control – dims the light, sets the fan speed and on/of. Operate it from where you are (eg if you wake up in the middle of the night too hot or too cold) without having to jump up and go to the light switch. Fits using existing wiring for a pendant light. NOTE this has a remote control receiver built into the fan. It won’t work with an existing remote control light switch on the wall because the motor draws too much current, so you’ll need to put an ordinary switch or blanking plate on the wall if you already have a remote control switch
