New look Enabled by Design website goes live!

There’s just a week to go now until our very first “We are Enabled by Design” event (have we mentioned we’re holding an event at the Design Museum yet – maybe once or twice, we’re really rather excited about it you know! :)

And to celebrate we thought we’d give Enabled by Design a make over. Et voila! We present to you the new look Enabled by Design front page.

newebd.jpgWe’ve had our site up and running for over a year now which means we’ve had lots of time to work out what works and what doesn’t. With the redesign, we’ve been able to better demonstrate how much is going on in the Enabled by Design community not only here on www.enabledbydesign.org but all over the web, especially on Twitter and over on our vibrant Facebook fan page.

So what’s new? Well as you can see, we were keen to bring forward as much of the content as possible onto the front page to let you see under the bonnet as some of it was a little hidden away previously. Most importantly, we’ve brought the blog forward to the front page, giving us the ability to share our most recent and favourite (featured) posts so they hit you as soon as you come to the site. We also now have new ‘community’ posts updating with the relevant most recent image for loves, hates and product reviews. No biggy, but a nice to have.

This is really only stage one of the work we are going to be putting into renewing the site over coming months now that we have a teeny bit of cash thanks to UnLtd’s Nominet Trust level 2 award to us last month.

But to make sure we get the most out of what money we do have to spend, we’d love to hear from you, our Enabled by Designers. Leave us a comment to this blog post, chat on Facebook or tweet @enabledby over on Twitter and let us know what you think of the changes we’ve made and where we should go next.

Last but not least, we just wanted to say a BIG thank you to our developer Anu and friend of EbD Andy Exell for their sterling work on the redesign. We think it’s ace!
